Appel à candidatures pour la subvention FCPPL - CSC

Les doctorants peuvent désormais proposer leurs candidatures pour l’obtention de la subvention FCPPL-CSC via le site du Laboratoire international associé franco-chinois en physique des particules.

The call for the FCPPL - CSC PhD grants is now open.

The FCPPL-CSC agreement allows either 3-year grants for full PhD in France, or 6- to 24-month grants for students who are already registered as PhD students in China.
Grants are allocated by the CSC and are around 1.000 euros/month, with return flight tickets included.

The selection procedure follows two steps :

  • First the FCPPL Steering Committee will preselect students who apply to a French lab member of FCPPL.
Candidates can download the application form from the FCPPL web site.
  • Then CSC will evaluate the listed candidates according to CSC requirements and priorities, and inform the successful candidates in May or June.
Details on this second step can be seen of the CSC web page (in Chinese).
**** Important note for candidates from Universities : ****

Be aware that each University is awarded a fixed and limited number of grants by the CSC. Your university will therefore establish its own list of candidates and transfer it to the CSC. This is usually done in December or January.

Your name has to be on this list in order to get a grant !

Unfortunately, the procedure to establish this list differs from one University to another, so FCPPL cannot intervene. We therefore strongly suggest that you contact your own university administration in order to get valid information.

This procedure does not apply to candidates from CAS institutes (including USTC).

Note that being preselected by the FCPPL does not necessarily mean receiving a grant from the CSC !

In 2009, however, the 4 FCPPL students who sent valid applications to the CSC got a grant, making the CSC the largest source of grants for FCPPL PhDs in 2009. Despite an apparently complicated application procedure, chances of success are therefore significant !
