法国液化空气集团发起了“关键分子挑战”活动,旨在邀请科学界提出关于以下三大挑战的建议:

  • “瓶装阳光氢气”:设计有效的方法来使用太阳能从水中生成氢气。
  • “可随身携带的小分子”:通过气体的物理或化学吸附来设计有着高存储密度的材料。
  • “二氧化碳,还回你的氧气!”:设计一种方法、程序或原型设备,将二氧化碳分离为氧气、碳和一氧化碳。

总共有3项液化空气集团科学奖(奖金5万欧元)将被授予获奖者。液化空气集团将为将这些建议发展为可投入市场的技术的合作提供更多资金(高达50万欧元)。

获奖者将由液化空气集团的五名代表组成的委员会、欧莱雅-联合国教科文组织女性科学家将获得者任咏华教授,以及诺贝尔化学家获得者让-马里•莱恩教授一同提名。

Air Liquide launched an "Essential Molecules Challenge". The purpose is to invite the scientific community to submit proposals on the three following challenges :

  • “Sunny H2 in a bottle” : Design an efficient means of producing hydrogen from water by using solar energy.
  • “Pocketable small molecules” : Design materials with high storage density through physi- or chemisorption of gases.
  • “CO2, give back your O2 !” : Design a method, a process or a prototype equipment to split carbon dioxide into its constituents oxygen, carbon and carbon monoxide.

Up to 3 Air Liquide Scientific Awards (50.000 euros) will be granted to the winners. Air Liquide will further fund up joint collaborations (up to 500.000 euros) to develop the proposals into marketable technology.

The laureates will be nominated by a committee of 5 representatives of Air Liquide, Prof. V Yam, laureate of the L’Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science, and Prof. JM Lehn, Nobel Prize winner for Chemistry.
